100% of readers will agree with at least one of the below statements. (Anyone that disagrees is lying.)

  1. You are or have dated online.
  2. You know someone who has dated online.
  3. You are thinking about joining an online dating site.

You’re probably thinking right now, “Is Agape Match seriously talking about online dating? Aren’t they competitors?”

Not really. The kind of person that will use our matchmaking or date coachingservices is still encouraged, if privacy is not an issue, to online date. We’ll set up our clients with a stylist, a photographer, and we’ll even help write the most perfect online dating profile ever to attract the kind of person you actually want to date. (Totally email us if this is something you want!) We’re friends with a lot of the sites you’re on. Sometimes, their CEOs or product directors come to our office for coffee, and we get to talk about behavioral economics and dating. The consensus is this: Online dating is an incredible tool if you are doing it right. Most people just really suck at online dating.

We’re entering the trifecta of holidays, where being single is served with a side of guilt (and gravy, because gravy is delicious). Now is a perfect opportunity to begin online dating or re-vamp your profile. At least you can say you’re trying!

…but before you go off to sign up on OKCupid, do this one thing. Listen to this amazing podcast by Freakonomics Radio called “What You Don’t Know About Online Dating“. You’ll hear tips on building the perfect dating profile, and choosing the right site. You’ll also learn what you should lie about, and what you shouldn’t. Although originally aired earlier this year, I absolutely love this episode! So many great points and tips!
