Hi reader,Before we talk about this week’s podcast episode, I want to cover a few
holiday
housekeeping items:
If you’re still searching for a last-minute Christmas present, you can GIFT one of your loved ones
a dating strategy call. What better way to prepare for dating in 2024 than with a personalized assessment by matchmaker Louie Felix? Buy it for a family member or yourself!
While you’re sitting around the holiday table, encourage your family and friends to join the Agape Matchmaking database. (It’s free!)
Last but not least,
I expect you to come to our retreat in Greece next year. We only have FIVE more rooms, so don’t wait to register. Details are at the bottom of this newsletter.
Okay…let’s get into it!
Talia Lichstein and Jake Cornell joined me on this week’s episode of
Ask a Matchmaker to chat about millennials, Gen Z, and dating the old-fashioned way.
More and more, young people are opting out of online dating. They’re frustrated, disillusioned, and craving in-person experiences. Events like “hush-hour” dates on Eventbrite are gaining popularity, focusing on shared interests like meditation and quiet parties.
Jake brings up a great point in our conversation, explaining that the initial allure of online dating was that it eliminated the risk of rejection. But by replacing in-person flirting with swiping right, we trade excitement for apathy.
One thing is clear: it’s only a matter of time before the next generation starts dating like it’s 1988 again!
I had a blast chatting with them and answering your hotline questions!
